Writing this Toolkit has been a collaborative affair between Argyll and Bute, Stirling and West Dunbartonshire, and we should like to acknowledge the help and support, as well as the funding, that we have received from Education Scotland CLD Upskilling – and in particular from Mandy Toogood.

We held a series of joint CPD events during 2011 to inform the content of this Toolkit, and would like to thank all staff and partners who took part.

We have also consulted more widely and much of the case study material has been written by staff and partners in other authorities; we very much appreciate the effort that has gone into these examples of good practice – thanks for sharing.

We hope that this Toolkit will be a ‘live’ bag of tricks. Now it is on the web, we can all add and contribute to it – case studies, examples, tools and professional know-how.

Many thanks also to Emma Perring who has patiently waited for text and content, and organised us into a more coherent whole!
